About the cycle

Who are we?

My name is Joe Kingston-Lee. In June 2007 my brother Jack and his friend George will be cycling the length of the UK from Land's End to John O’Groats. I will be completing the journey in July with my friend Mark and his brother Andy. Together, we hope to raise as much money as possible for Raleigh International. More information about the team's can be found here.

How are we going to do it?

We aim to complete the 1400km (875 mile) trip in about 10 days. We plan to do the trip unsupported – this means we will be carrying all our equipment ourselves as opposed to having a support team in a car following us...with Jack’s vast collection of clothes and toiletry items.

Who are we raising money for?

All proceeds of the trip go to Raleigh International. Raleigh works with vulnerable young people both in the UK and abroad. On October 2nd 2007, I am going to Malaysia for 10 weeks to take part in a Raleigh International project. Whilst in Malaysia I will be working on projects that benefit the local community alongside other volunteers and also vulnerable young people from the UK. This is not a holiday! I will be living in basic conditions, eating basic food whilst doing lots of manual labour.

Where will my donation go?

By donating you are making the lives of Malaysian children better whilst helping Raleigh to support troubled and needing children closer to home. Recent Raleigh projects in Malaysia have included the building of schools and securing safe water supplies.
